March 26, 2015 – Multiple award-winning Contemporary Instrumental / New Age music composer Tony Chen, currently based in Greater Los Angeles CA, has been named by Music Resource Group (MRG) as a Nominee of The 14th Independent Music Awards (The IMAs) for the beautiful and touching music composition "Recognizing the Beloved One..." in the New Age Song Category.

The IMA is an influential awards program for independent artists and releases. Independent Music Awards nominations in more than 80 Album, Song, EP, Music Producer, Music Video and Design categories were announced for self-released and independent label artists from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Canada, Colombia, England, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Mali, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, United States and Tibet.

The eclectic mix of established and rising talent nominated in The 14th IMAs were culled from thousands of submissions that were released during the program’s eligibility period, between June, 2013 thru December 2014. When asked about this nomination, Tony Chen replied,

"This piece was a First Place Winner of The 13th Annual Great American Song Contest in 2012, and I feel grateful and honored to be nominated for this music piece again 3 years later in the 14th IMA. The piece "Recognizing the Beloved One... " is from my CD Album "At Ease". The piece was composed for a feature movie "Destined" written and produced by Dr. Tianliang Zhang, former adjunct professor in George Mason University, and currently chief commentator for Epoch Times News Group and a senior analyst of New Tang Dynasty Television.

The piece was about a very touching and complicated emotion from the male actor towards his lover when he was recognized by his beloved girlfriend that he was actually the long lost lover, while he was trying to protect her from human right violation in China but being unable to reveal his identity...Because he worked as a policeman to carry out the order of illegal human right violation in China, and later found that his long lost beloved girlfriend was among the innocent people he had to arrest... he then learnt the truth and stand for love and justice.
