“A New Story: The Piano Trilogy” (Yiruma Style) by Tony Chen

I have to say that July 2014 is the month that I am finally settled down for music after moving from San Francisco at the U.S. west coast to New York at the east coast. A new musical journey has begun, all started from piano solo music – I have continuously composed 2 new piano solo pieces in July: “A New Story”and “Fresh Breeze”. Adding “Warm Romance Serenade” composed in February, “A New Story: The Piano Trilogy 2014 by Tony Chen” has been completed, marking the beginning of a new musical journey ahead.

If you like South Korean pianist and composer Yiruma’s delicate piano pieces, such as “River Flows in You”, “Kiss the Rain” and “Maybe”, I am sure my piano trilogy is also your type of piano tunes as it is in Yiruma’s style. Of course you can also sense my own style there too, plus some oriental tastes in one of the 3 pieces. I hope you will find this musical journey of the trilogy a wonderful, warm and pure one.

We all have different stages in our life, especially the stage when you realize you can finally choose the path you always wanted after years of distractions and tribulations...This piece is a summarize of the past and the new starting page of the new story ahead. 

Fresh Breeze (Piano Solo)

My New Piano Solo Piece - Fresh Breeze, hope to give you some fresh and cool Breeze in this summer time!

The music piece is serene, fresh and beautiful featuring oriental taste in the melody line. Fresh Breeze's translation in Chinese is 清風(Qing Feng) which is not only expressing the breeze you can feel, but also depicting a person's noble character - just like a pure lotus in this troubling world.

Warm Romance Serenade (Piano Solo)

The piece was a dedication for Valentine’s Day 2014. Whether you are single, in a relationship, or already have a family, do please come and listen to this piece - a piano solo "Warm Romance Serenade".

I hope this piece will accompany you for every romantic moment in your life! Spending time with your other half is indeed the most beautiful and romantic moment. Of course, all couples certainly encounter unhappy moments like conflicts, contradictions, arguing etc. Sometimes, you suddenly find out that your other half actually has a bad temper that you never realized before. Actually everyone has his/her own personality weaknesses, maybe caused by his/her growing environment, the old wound in the heart long time ago. If you believe in reincarnation, some weaknesses may also be caused by the traces left from the suffering in previous lives over the past thousands of years. That’s why you sometimes find people really are too stubborn to change his/her characters. Anyway, these weaknesses just annoys you badly and losing the romance. So that’s why I have added the word “warm” before “romance”. That is to say, what your other half need is a “warm” heart. Try to give a warm heart that embraces the heart of your beloved one. The warm heart includes qualities of understanding, forgiving, comforting, and tolerating – a compassionate warm heart even having the power to heal the wounds from the past thousand years of reincarnation. So your happiness and romance last long and never end.
